Helping shellfish habitat in Pumicestone Passage
Aptly described as the ‘kidneys of the coast’, native shellfish in Pumicestone Passage play an important part in the water quality of this beautiful natural asset. Together with council, Traditional Owners and other agencies, we’re installing artificial reefs in the passage as habitats for these valuable species.

Working on the Redcliffe Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)
Improving this plant’s performance and ensuring it is able to meet community needs now and into the future continues to be a key priority. Work on this vital facility is on track for completion in late 2019.

Preventing erosion of the banks of the Caboolture River
Imagine preventing more than 3,500 tonnes of soil from entering and potentially polluting the Caboolture River and Pumicestone Passage. We’re making this environmental aim a reality this May by planting native vegetation on the river banks at Bellmere to help stabilise this area and prevent erosion.

Reducing single-use plastic water bottle waste
Fifty-nine community events, five new refill stations, one great ambition! Join us in helping to prevent more single-use plastic water bottle waste going to landfill or clogging our waterways. We’re not only taking our Back to Tap van to community events near you but you’ll also beable to fill your reusable bottle at new water stations in Bongaree, Burpengary, North Lakes, Scarborough and Woody Point.
